AGE

• 21-25 years


• (5 Yrs relaxation for SC/ST and 3 Yrs for OBC)


• (5 Yrs relaxation for personnel serving in Coast Guard or equivalent personnel in Army or Navy or Air Force)

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION

• Should hold a degree from recognized university.


• Mathematics and Physics as subject up to Intermediate or class XII of 10+2+3 scheme of education or equivalent. The candidates who have completed graduation after diploma, are also eligible, provided they should possess a diploma with physics and mathematics in its curriculum.

MEDICAL STANDARD

• Height: 157 cms Reduction in minimum height for candidates from hilly areas and tribal areas will be in accordance with the Central Govt. regulations.
  
  
• Weight: Proportionate to the height and age. ( + 10% acceptable)
  
  
• Chest: well proportionate, minimum 5 cms expansion
  
  
• Hearing. Normal
  
  
• Eye Sight : 6/6 6/9 – Uncorrected without glass. 6/6 6/6 – Corrected with glass.

The selection of Coast Guard Assistant Commandant (GD) is based on an all India order of merit which is based on the performance of candidate in various stages (I – V) of examination (explained in detail below) and the number of vacancies available for the post. Clearing of Stage I, II, III, IV and V is compulsory for recruitment in ICG. All candidates will be compulsorily subjected to biometric, photo identification and document verification during various stages of examination. Various stages of CGCAT are as follows:-

1. Stage-I {Coast Guard Common Admission Test(CGCAT)}

2. Stage-II ( Preliminary Selection Board)

3. Stage-III ( Final Selection Board)

4. Stage-IV (Medical Examination)

5. Stage-V (Induction)

Note: The fees includes 18% GST
